Shedeur Sanders to Start Week 9 Against the Saints

Image
The Cleveland Browns announced Friday that quarterback Shedeur Sanders will make his first start of the 2026 season in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, as Deshaun Watson remains in the NFL's concussion protocol. Sanders, a 2025 fifth-round pick (QB #2), took first-team reps all week. Head coach Todd Monken announced the decision Friday: "I'm fired up to see him play. I mean, who wouldn't be?" Watson is officially listed as questionable. The Browns (5-3) play at New Orleans (2-5) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at the Caesars Superdome. West Hollywood Approves First U.S. Registry for Polyamorous Relationships

Image
West Hollywood has become the first U.S. city to open a domestic partnership registry for relationships of three or more people. The City Council unanimously approved Ordinance No. 26-13 on November 3, 2026; it takes effect December 2. Three or more adults in a consensual relationship can file a declaration with the city clerk — they don't even have to live in West Hollywood. Registered partners get hospital and jail visitation rights and added tenant protections. What it is NOT: a marriage, and not a state-recognized domestic partnership. It doesn't touch inheritance, taxes or immigration. It's a city-level recognition and protection framework — the first of its kind in the country. Source: NY Post , Nov 4, 2026.

More Steps, Sharper Mind: What 14 Years of Fitbit Data Showed

Image
Walking more each day is linked to a sharper mind, according to a study published in Scientific Reports. Researchers from Baylor College of Medicine analyzed Fitbit records spanning 14 years (2009–2023) for 3,093 adults ages 18 to 93 in the NIH's All of Us program. Participants fell into three groups by daily steps: about 5,108, 8,875 and 14,161. The two higher-step groups scored significantly better on tests of sustained attention, ignoring distractions and delayed gratification — every extra 1,000 steps a day was worth a small but real bump. The honest caveat: the study is observational. Cognition was measured once, and the researchers say it does not prove walking causes better brain performance. Adrien Broner Got Emotional About Going Broke — Then Streaming Made Him a Millionaire Again

Image
Adrien Broner was once one of boxing's biggest personalities — a four-division world champion who earned an estimated $30 million in the ring. He has been just as open about losing it. In his new 85 South Show appearance ("Adrien Broner & Tracy T in the trap!" — Nov 6, 2026), Broner gets emotional talking about going broke after his boxing career and not being able to provide for his kids. The second act is streaming. Broner rebuilt on Kick alongside DeenTheGreat, and in July 2026 he broke down again — this time celebrating: a seven-figure streaming payout made him a millionaire again. "They thought I was dead," he said. "Y'all got me feeling like I'm back world champion again." Sources: 85 South Show / Channel 85 (Nov 6, 2026); Hip-Hop Vibe (July 2026).

Dr. Dre Says Larry Smith Is the Greatest Hip-Hop Producer of All Time

Image
Ask most people to name the greatest hip-hop producer ever and "Dr. Dre" is the first name out. But Dre himself gave the crown to somebody else. On the premiere of Listen & Laugh with Ice Cube and Mike Epps, Dre said Larry Smith is the greatest hip-hop producer of all time — explaining how Smith inspired an entire generation but never got the recognition he deserved. Dre also gave Sylvia Robinson her flowers for her impact on hip-hop. Smith co-produced Run-DMC's "Run-D.M.C." (1984) and "King of Rock" (1985) with Russell Simmons and produced Whodini's "Escape" (1984) and "Back in Black" (1986). Ecstasy of Whodini once called him "the Quincy Jones of rap," and DJ Premier put him #1 on his own top-5 producers list. Larry Smith died in 2014. Michael Jackson Impersonator Fabio Jackson Accuses Rival Looze Cannon of Harassment

Image
The King of Pop has been gone since 2009 — but his impersonators are fighting like he's still here. Michael Jackson lookalike Fabio Jackson was filmed leaving the Michael D. Antonovich Antelope Valley Courthouse on November 5, telling TMZ he's dealing with "harassment" from fellow impersonator Looze Cannon's moderators — "terrorizing me like crazy on the internet." The feud started after Fabio accused Looze Cannon (real name Glen Cannon) of using AI face and voice filters for his impersonation — "not a real face, not a real voice," Fabio called it, and "trash." Looze fired back: "I don't got no AI. This is all me." (He does use a social media filter, per The Shade Room.) One correction to the viral posts: despite the headlines, Fabio has NOT filed a lawsuit. Complex searched Los Angeles Superior Court records and found no complaint under his legal name, Fabio James — and Fabio himself didn't say what legal action h...

Musk Called It Tesla's "Best Product Ever." Now the Cybertruck Is Being Scrapped.

Image
The Cybertruck era is ending. The Wall Street Journal reports Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production at its Texas factory by mid-2027 — about four years after the truck's late-2023 launch — freeing up capacity for the Cybercab robotaxi. Elon Musk once called the Cybertruck Tesla's "best product ever." The market never fully agreed: roughly 73,000 were sold in three years, and the truck became a symbol of Musk's right-wing politics as much as a vehicle. Dr. Dre Says He's "Extremely Excited" About AI — And He's Already Using It

Image
Dr. Dre is not running from AI — he's running toward it. On the premiere episode of Listen & Laugh, the new podcast from Ice Cube and Mike Epps, Dre said he is "extremely excited" about artificial intelligence: "I love it. I love the potential of it." Dre explained that with music and film, AI can use your image and your voice — with your approval — and "you don't even have to be there." He's already using it to make music himself. And he had a message for the critics: the only people mad about the elevation of AI, he said, are people who "aren't that creative." It's the same stance Dre took in his New York Times interview earlier this year, where he called AI a new tool for creativity — like the drum machine before it — and said the only people who see it as a threat are the ones who have trouble creating. 'Mission Impossible 4' tops weekend box receipts (BLOG)

Image
WASHINGTON, December 26, 2011 — For many department stores, today marks a kind of “Black Monday” as staffers gear up for the inevitable onslaught of Christmas gift returns. But for Hollywood, the entire month of December 2011 has been a kind of black hole into which year-end releases fall while rapidly losing escape velocity. Aside from the Tom Cruise thriller, “Mission Impossible—Ghost Protocol,” which topped this weekend’s box office numbers at the number 1 spot with $26.5M in domestic receipts (first-weekend full release), most of the remaining holiday-release films on the docket failed to win much traction. (UPDATE: Today, Reuters updated figures for the four-day weekend MI take to an even more impressive $46.2M.) The Cruise action flick gained a near-perfect score from the online reviewers at Rotten Tomatoes where it's described as “Stylish, fast-paced, and loaded with gripping set pieces,” further noting that it is “big-budget popcorn entertainment that really works.” ...

Hidden costs of dental neglect (BLOG)

Image
Four years ago, 12-year old Deamonte Driver died of a toothache. Extreme neglect had led to an abscess that spread to his brain and killed him. The Drivers were a desperately poor family in Maryland that had trouble locating an oral surgeon who would work for Medicaid rates. But whether rich, poor or in between, regular dental care has declined as out-of-pocket costs have risen during the Great Recession. Few people know that good dental care can be the key to good overall health. According to the Mayo Clinic, a full menu of diseases can result from poor dental care, including endocarditis (an infection of the inner lining of the heart), cardiovascular disease (clogged arteries and stroke may be linked to oral bacteria) and premature birth and low birth weight babies, to name a few. In the months after the Wall Street crash of 2008 , Dr. Aziza Askari faced her own financial crisis. Patients in her Farmington Hills, Mich., dental practice began asking for refunds on prepayments for...

Why Jennifer Hudson turned down 'Precious' Role (BLOG)

Image
Jennifer Hudson has revealed she turned down the title role in " Precious " because she didn't want to pack on weight to play the abused single mom. Fresh off her Oscars victory in " Dreamgirls ," director Lee Daniels approached the singer/actress and asked her to consider playing Precious -- but she wasn't interested. In her new memoir "I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down," Hudson writes, "As much as I was moved by this film, I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight." Newcomer Gabourey Sidibe eventually won the role as Precious, while Hudson became a weight loss icon and WeightWatchers spokesperson.

Sears to close 100 to 120 Kmart, Sears stores (BLOG)

Image
NEW YORK — Between 100 and 120 Sears and Kmart stores will be closed, the retailer said Tuesday, after terrible holiday sales during what is the most crucial time of the year for retailers. Sears has yet to determine which stores will be closed, but there has been a clear shift in where the retailer will devote its resources. The company is moving away from its practice of propping up "marginally performing" stores in hopes of improving their performance . Sears said it will now concentrate on cash-generating stores. "Given our performance and the difficult economic environment, especially for big-ticket items, we intend to implement a series of actions to reduce ongoing expenses, adjust our asset base, and accelerate the transformation of our business model," said CEO Louis D'Ambrosio. "These actions will better enable us to focus our investments on serving our customers." Sears would not discuss how many, if any, jobs would be cut. Sears H...

Brees Breaks Marinos Record (BLOG)

Image
NEW ORLEANS Once he watches the game replay, Drew Brees will be hard on himself. The New Orleans Saints quarterback will bemoan throwing two uncharacteristic passes into double coverage that were intercepted. He will feel just as badly about trying to call consecutive timeouts late in the second quarter, which is a Football 101 rules violation. There were 16 incompletions and three second-half drives that ended without a first down or points to prolong what had the early makings of a blowout. But immediately after this magical Monday night in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome came to an end, Brees had every right to proclaim a 45-16 victory over Atlanta as “perfect,” even though he wasn’t. New Orleans (12-3) defeated its archrival to clinch the NFC South title and notch a seventh consecutive win. The Saints were outstanding on the ground with 164 yards against the NFL’s fourth-ranked run defense. They also stymied a Falcons offense that simply couldn’t keep pace. And in the proc...

Walters' names 'Most Fascinating' person (BLOG)

Image
Barbara Walters made an unprecedented choice for her No. 1 Most Fascinating Person of 2011. Walters' coveted title went to Steve Jobs. This was the first time that the honor was given to someone no longer living. The Apple co-founder passed away in October after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56. Walters explained that the choice to honor Jobs was made before his death when he announced his retirement as CEO of the company he helped build. After his death, the choice remained because, as Walters simply stated, "Rules were meant to be broken." Other notable names to make the annual list include the Kardashians, Herman Cain, Donald Trump and Pippa Middleton. ET

FDA cracks down on DIY sperm donor in Calif. (BLOG, VIDEO)

Image
By JoNel Aleccia A California man is vowing to continue his do-it-yourself sperm donor operation, despite efforts of federal health officials to crack down on the free service. Trent C. Arsenault, 36, of Fremont, Calif., told msnbc.com that he has fathered 14 children -- with four more on the way -- and donated sperm to between 60 and 75 families since he started the online operation in 2006. Visit msnbc.com for breaking news , world news , and news about the economy “Every time I log into Facebook, I’m overwhelmed with all the pictures from the families,” said Arsenault, who regards his donations as a way to help low-income people struggling with infertility. Last year, federal Food and Drug Administration officials delivered a letter ordering Arsenault to “cease manufacturing,” or halt his service, because the computer security expert had not followed regulations governing safety precautions for transmission of human cells or tissues through donor clinics. “We h...
