Michael Jackson Impersonator Fabio Jackson Accuses Rival Looze Cannon of Harassment

Image
The King of Pop has been gone since 2009 — but his impersonators are fighting like he's still here. Michael Jackson lookalike Fabio Jackson was filmed leaving the Michael D. Antonovich Antelope Valley Courthouse on November 5, telling TMZ he's dealing with "harassment" from fellow impersonator Looze Cannon's moderators — "terrorizing me like crazy on the internet." The feud started after Fabio accused Looze Cannon (real name Glen Cannon) of using AI face and voice filters for his impersonation — "not a real face, not a real voice," Fabio called it, and "trash." Looze fired back: "I don't got no AI. This is all me." (He does use a social media filter, per The Shade Room.) One correction to the viral posts: despite the headlines, Fabio has NOT filed a lawsuit. Complex searched Los Angeles Superior Court records and found no complaint under his legal name, Fabio James — and Fabio himself didn't say what legal action h...

Musk Called It Tesla's "Best Product Ever." Now the Cybertruck Is Being Scrapped.

Image
The Cybertruck era is ending. The Wall Street Journal reports Tesla will wind down Cybertruck production at its Texas factory by mid-2027 — about four years after the truck's late-2023 launch — freeing up capacity for the Cybercab robotaxi. Elon Musk once called the Cybertruck Tesla's "best product ever." The market never fully agreed: roughly 73,000 were sold in three years, and the truck became a symbol of Musk's right-wing politics as much as a vehicle. Dr. Dre Says He's "Extremely Excited" About AI — And He's Already Using It

Image
Dr. Dre is not running from AI — he's running toward it. On the premiere episode of Listen & Laugh, the new podcast from Ice Cube and Mike Epps, Dre said he is "extremely excited" about artificial intelligence: "I love it. I love the potential of it." Dre explained that with music and film, AI can use your image and your voice — with your approval — and "you don't even have to be there." He's already using it to make music himself. And he had a message for the critics: the only people mad about the elevation of AI, he said, are people who "aren't that creative." It's the same stance Dre took in his New York Times interview earlier this year, where he called AI a new tool for creativity — like the drum machine before it — and said the only people who see it as a threat are the ones who have trouble creating. 'Mission Impossible 4' tops weekend box receipts (BLOG)

Image
WASHINGTON, December 26, 2011 — For many department stores, today marks a kind of “Black Monday” as staffers gear up for the inevitable onslaught of Christmas gift returns. But for Hollywood, the entire month of December 2011 has been a kind of black hole into which year-end releases fall while rapidly losing escape velocity. Aside from the Tom Cruise thriller, “Mission Impossible—Ghost Protocol,” which topped this weekend’s box office numbers at the number 1 spot with $26.5M in domestic receipts (first-weekend full release), most of the remaining holiday-release films on the docket failed to win much traction. (UPDATE: Today, Reuters updated figures for the four-day weekend MI take to an even more impressive $46.2M.) The Cruise action flick gained a near-perfect score from the online reviewers at Rotten Tomatoes where it's described as “Stylish, fast-paced, and loaded with gripping set pieces,” further noting that it is “big-budget popcorn entertainment that really works.” ...

Hidden costs of dental neglect (BLOG)

Image
Four years ago, 12-year old Deamonte Driver died of a toothache. Extreme neglect had led to an abscess that spread to his brain and killed him. The Drivers were a desperately poor family in Maryland that had trouble locating an oral surgeon who would work for Medicaid rates. But whether rich, poor or in between, regular dental care has declined as out-of-pocket costs have risen during the Great Recession. Few people know that good dental care can be the key to good overall health. According to the Mayo Clinic, a full menu of diseases can result from poor dental care, including endocarditis (an infection of the inner lining of the heart), cardiovascular disease (clogged arteries and stroke may be linked to oral bacteria) and premature birth and low birth weight babies, to name a few. In the months after the Wall Street crash of 2008 , Dr. Aziza Askari faced her own financial crisis. Patients in her Farmington Hills, Mich., dental practice began asking for refunds on prepayments for...

Why Jennifer Hudson turned down 'Precious' Role (BLOG)

Image
Jennifer Hudson has revealed she turned down the title role in " Precious " because she didn't want to pack on weight to play the abused single mom. Fresh off her Oscars victory in " Dreamgirls ," director Lee Daniels approached the singer/actress and asked her to consider playing Precious -- but she wasn't interested. In her new memoir "I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down," Hudson writes, "As much as I was moved by this film, I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight." Newcomer Gabourey Sidibe eventually won the role as Precious, while Hudson became a weight loss icon and WeightWatchers spokesperson.
